"levis" Maier, 1959, p.308, pl.30, figs.1-2. Holotype: Maier, 1959, pl.30, fig.1; Sarjeant, 1983, pl.2, fig.3; pl.5, fig.1; text-fig.2. Originally Galea (generic name illegitimate), subsequently Baltisphaeridium (Appendix A), thirdly Cleistosphaeridium. Taxonomic senior synonym: Galea (as Chiropteridium) galea, according to Sarjeant (1983, p.108-109). Following I.C.B.N. Article 55.1, the species name Galea levis is validly published even though the generic name Galea is illegitimate. Age: Late Oligocene-Mid Miocene.
