Holotype: Deflandre, 1934, fig.5; Deflandre, 1935, pl.6, fig.3; Deflandre, 1936b, pl.6, figs.8-10. Originally Palaeoperidinium (name not validly published), subsequently (and now) Phanerodinium. The name Palaeoperidinium cayeuxii was not validly published in Deflandre (1936b) since the generic name Palaeoperidinium was not validly published until 1967. Age: Senonian.
