NOW Cribroperidinium. Originally Gonyaulacysta, subsequently Acanthaulax, thirdly Meristaulax Sarjeant, fourthly Acanthaulax?, fifthly Rhynchodiniopsis, sixthly (and now) Cribroperidinium. Questionable assignment: Jan du Chêne et al. (1986a, p.26). Taxonomic senior synonym: Gonyaulax (now Cribroperidinium) granulata, according to Fisher and Riley (1980, p.321) — however, Sarjeant and Gocht in Sarjeant (1984a, p.160) retained Acanthaulax? (as Meristaulax, now Cribroperidinium) angulosa. Age: early Kimmeridgian.
