Citation: Oodiniaceae Chatton, 1920. Diagnosis:Blastodinialeans in which the parasitic stage is invasive and does not clearly exhibit a typical dinoflagellate form. Sporogenesis is by palintomy. Cyst stages are absent. Type genus: Oodinium Chatton, 1912. Extant genera: Amyloodinium E.M. Brown and Hovasse, 1946. ?Bargoniella Loeblich Jr. and Tappan, 1961. (=Salpicola Bargoni, 1894 ex Farr et al., 1979; nomenclatural junior synonym - see Fensome et al., 1993b, p.173-174) Crepidoodinium Lom and Lawlor in Lom, 1981. Oodinium Chatton, 1912. (=Branchiophilus Schäperclaus, 1935; taxonomic junior synonym according to Schäperclaus, 1941) Piscinoodinium Lom, 1981.
