Originally Palaeoperidinium (name not validly published), subsequently Gonyaulacysta, thirdly Leptodinium, fourthly Leptodinium?, fifthly (and now) Cribroperidinium. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.170) as a problematic species. Age: Kimmeridgian.
