Holotype: Klumpp, 1953, pl.18, figs.8–9. NOW Cordosphaeridium latum. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium diktyoplokum subsp. latum, subsequently Cordosphaeridium diktyoplokum subsp. latum, thirdly Areosphaeridium diktyoplokum subsp. latum, fourthly Plethysyrinx lata, fifthly (and now) Cordosphaeridium latum. Age: Eocene.
