"SPHAERODINELLA" Keupp and Versteegh, 1989, p.209–210. Calcareous dinoflagellate genus (see Elbrächter et al., 2008, p.1302). Taxonomic senior synonym: Calciodinellum, by implication in Janofske and Karwath (2000, p.100), who transferred the type, Sphaerodinella albatrosiana, to Calciodinellum. Type: Kamptner, 1963, pl.5, fig.30, as Thoracosphaera albatrosiana.
