Citation: Ovoidinioideae ( Norris, 1978) Bujak and Davies, 1983. Diagnosis:Peridiniaceans in which the episomal tabulation is bipesioid and the Kofoid second anterior intercalary plate is hexa (i.e. six-sided). The cyst wall is composed of dinosporin and lacks a calcareous layer (or layers). The archeopyle is centred about the apical region. Ovoidinium Davey, 1970; fossil - Cretaceous (Cenomanian). Ascodinium Cookson and Eisenack, 1960a; Cretaceous (Albian-Cenomanian).
