Citation: Gonyaulacoideae (Autonym). Diagnosis:Gonyaulacaceans with an S-type ventral organization, typically neutral torsion and three or four climactal plates excluding small dorsal anterior intercalary plates (so-called "incidental plates"), where present. Of these climactal plates, the first apical homologue (*1\') is reduced or absent. There are six Kofoid precingular plates. Acanthogonyaulax ( Kofoid, 1911) Graham, 1942.
