Originally Xanthidium (Appendix A), subsequently (and now) Spiniferites, thirdly Hystrichosphaera, fourthly Baltisphaeridium (Appendix A), fifthly (and now) Spiniferites?. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.191) as a problematic species. Age: Late Cretaceous.
