Originally Hystrichosphaera, subsequently (and now) Spiniferites. This is a cyst equivalent of Gonyaulax spinifera (Claparède and Lachmann, 1859) Diesing, 1866, according to Dodge (1989, p.289). Age: Pleistocene–Holocene.
