Holotype: Wall, 1965a, pl.6, fig.9; pl.9, fig.9; Fensome et al., 1995, figs.1–2 — p.1595. NOW Beaumontella. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Polysphaeridium?, thirdly Dapsilidinium?, fourthly (and now) Beaumontella. Questionable assignment: Riley and Sarjeant (1972, p.3). Age: Hettangian–early Sinemurian.
