Originally Hystrichosphaeridium (name not valdily published), subsequently Hystrichosphaera, thirdly (and now) Spiniferites. The name Hystrichosphaeridium rubinum was not validly published in Rossignol (1962) since no illustration was provided. Age: Quaternary.
