Citation: Dinophysiaceae Stein, 1883. Diagnosis:Dinophysialeans in which the motile cell is rounded, ovoidal or reniform and never more than three times as long as it is broad. The ventral pore is on the ventral episome. The flagellar pore is immediately posterior to the cingulum. Dinophysis Ehrenberg, 1839b. Citharistes Stein, 1883.
