?corniger (Wetzel, 1933b, p.39, pl.5, fig.6 ex Deflandre, 1937b, p.66) Sarjeant, 1970, p.76.  Holotype: Wetzel, 1933b, pl.5, fig.6.  Originally Hystrichosphaera, subsequently Spiniferites, thirdly (and now) Spiniferites?.  Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.191).  This epithet, meaning horn-bearing, is correctly rendered as "corniger" when masculine.  Age: Late Cretaceous.
