Subdivision Dinokaryota

Dinoflagellates in which at least one stage in the life-cycle has a dinokaryon. That is: a nucleus in which the chromosomes are generally fibrillar in appearance (i.e. with unmasked DNA fibrils) and are more or less continuously condensed. Histones are absent.


Dinokaryon present during part of life-cycle only. UNCERTAINS Dinokaryon present throughout life-cycle.
