(2001, p.31). Lectotype: Alberti, 1961, pl.2, fig.13; Riding et al., pl.1, fig.7; designated (as a neotype) by Riding et al. (2001, p.31). Taxonomic senior synonyms: Wetzeliella? (as Phoberocysta) neocomica, by implication in Monteil (1991b, p.476), who considered Muderongia tomaszowensis to be the senior name - however, this synonymy has not been generally followed; Muderongia simplex, according to Jain and Khowaja-Ateequzzaman (1984, p.39) and Poulsen (1996, p.59) - however, Riding et al. (2001, p.31) retained Muderongia tomaszowensis. Age: Valanginian.
